The Still Flow of Time

Used table, drawer, chair, black paint, plywood
88” x 55” x 92”
2024

The Still Flow of Time visualizes the hearing impairment I experienced during my high school years, and the resulting identity confusion, panic disorder, and anxiety. As psychological isolation and darkness are expressed through the furniture, these pieces are placed as if fallen out and swallowed by darkness, creating a sense of space detached from reality. Thus, the artwork extends the hidden pain and isolation within the individual into a physical space. The chair flows downward, spreading on the floor like a shadow, embodying the flow of time as if it has stopped in a dark room.
